Working for my daugther

Last week we we had a lot of appointments regarding my daughter Lykke who is four years old. She has a developmental disability and right now we are in the process of getting her a PA (we call it a personal assistant in Sweden) to help her live like a normal fouryearold, and it's is a lot of work! I went through almost the same process last fall and ended up with help 7 h/week. The problem is 7 h a week is far from enough for our daughter to get the help she needs and even though we, as parents, are accustomed to do it, we are not supposed to. I don't want to go in to all the details, but it actually takes A LOT of time to get all attestations ready and to meet all her physicians and her habilitation team. When we do get all the papers ready the process at the public administration takes weeks and sometimes months to present their decision. And last time it was a negetiv one, so then you start over. I also bought a DVD with sign language for kids because Lykke do not communicate yet and I really want to help her improve her vocabulary (she can say mommy and daddy), but I am not satisfied with how it works. Lykke needs to practise the same five signs for maybe a month and there is no easy way to select a few words in a favorit list. I'm trying to figure out a smart way to do it myself. Maybe make a video where I do signs and show a picture and then vi can make new videos with new words.... I love to get some advice if someone out there have a solution for this!

To get away from it all we took a break and went to our summer house for a couple of days, and it was wonderful, as usual, to hang out with my parents and just relax the whole family together. Sometimes you just need to take some time to reload so you can continue to keep up the energy to make all the things that are a little bit more likely to drain you.
